Frequently Asked Questions

Where will the collection be from?

Unless otherwise stated, collection is from my baking address at:

8 Downscroft Gardens,

Hedge End

Southampton

SO30 4RR

What Happens if I’m running late?

Collection slots should be treated as an appointment, therefore please let me know as soon as possible if you will not be able to meet your prearranged time. I can often be flexible to accommodate collections, but please consider that I often work long hours and weekends and as such if a chance arises to finish early I like to take the opportunity to spend some well needed time with my family. As per my Terms and Conditions there is a fee of £15 that may be applied if the cake is collected more than 30 minutes after the agreed time slot unless contact has been made to rearrange a suitable time. Please refer to my Terms and Conditions for more information.

Is there a deposit?

Yes, there is a 50% deposit which is required to secure booking.

When is the final payment due?

For celebration cakes and cakes with a value of under £200, the final payment is due before collection or delivery on the day your item is due. Earlier payment is perfectly fine, but I do require that payment is received prior to yourself leaving to collect the cake or before I leave for delivery. Doorstep payments are not accepted.

For wedding cakes and cakes over £200, the final payment is due three weeks before the event and I will reach out to remind you of this.

How do I pay?

Payment via bank transfer is to the account detailed on the invoice, please let me know if you would prefer a secure payment link.

How should I transport my cake?

Cakes should always be refrigerated prior to transport. I recommend that cakes are transported in the front passenger footwell or the boot. Cakes should be transported in vehicles cooled with air-conditioning and if transporting in the boot, adequate means to secure the cake should be brought with you.

Will my cake be boxed?

Yes, all of my cakes are handed over on a cake board and boxed within a lightweight cardboard box. If you are transporting the cake far I would suggest asking me to add a more sturdy transport box to your order for the cost of £10 (this needs to be requested in advance).

How should my cake be stored at home?

Cakes should be stored in a fridge or cool room until 2-3 hours before eating (shorter on particularly hot days). Cakes should be enjoyed at room temperature. Cakes should not be displayed in full sunlight. Any leftovers should be wrapped in cling film and stored in the fridge to maintain freshness. Cakes should be eaten within 5 days of collection/delivery.

Do you offer cake knives and cake stands?

I unfortunately do not offer cake knives. I do however have a selection of cake stands available to hire. If you are interested in hiring a cake stand please reach out and ask about my selection and the prices.

Can I use my cake for a cake smash?

All cakes may contain hidden dowels and supports and therefore cakes should never be used for ‘smashing’ and faces should NEVER be pushed into cakes.
