Terms and Conditions

All our Products made by us are subject to the following Terms and Conditions.

INGREDIENTS

All cakes, fillings and icings may contain, or come into contact with, soya, wheat, dairy, eggs, nuts or other allergens unless otherwise informed.

It is the responsibility of the Customer to inform me prior to the confirmation of their booking of ANY AND ALL allergies including those presumed to be irrelevant. It is the responsibility of the Customer to inform their guests of ALL allergy information, and accordingly the Supplier will not be held liable for any allergic reaction resulting from consumption of the cake.

All products are made to be eaten on the day of the celebration.

QUOTATIONS

All Quotations are valid for 1 month from the date of issue.

ORDERS

Any Products ordered from a picture or photo of a product produced by any other cake maker, can only be reproduced by us as our interpretation of that product and will NOT be an exact reproduction of the product in the picture or photo. We reserve the right to make minor changes to best suit a design if deemed necessary, and these changes may be last minute and so will not always be communicated to the customer. 

FRESH FLOWERS

If you wish your wedding cake to be decorated with fresh flowers we can liaise directly with your florist regarding the floral decorations required for your cake during the weeks before your wedding, so please do ensure you have ordered these beforehand. We can meet your florist at your venue or these can be placed ready on the cake table. Please note we cannot accept responsibility for flowers left in this way.

Please note that some flowers are not suitable for use as a cake decoration.  We may not be able to use all of the flowers used in your displays because of this, however we will endeavor to arrange adequate replacements with your florist. We personally ask all florists I work with to wash the flowers to remove chemical reschedule, it is their responsibility to complete this.

We can not take responsibility if flowers are placed on the cake by someone else and/or without our knowledge. We strongly advise against this due to the toxicity of many flower varieties and flowers not handled correctly.

DEPOSITS

A non-refundable deposit of 50% is required to hold your date. Payment of the deposit is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions detailed throughout this document.

UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES

Where we cancel the booking due to illness or any other unforeseen circumstance that affects the ability to deliver the ordered Product, the deposit will be refunded within seven (7) days of notification to the Customer.

FINAL BALANCE PAYMENTS

For cakes less than £150, the remaining balance is due on the day of the event via bank transfer and prior to the cake leaving the premises.

For cakes greater than £150, the remaining balance is due 21 days prior to the event date via bank transfer.

PICKUPS DELIVERY AND SETUP

Due to the delicate nature of our cakes, we like to personally deliver and set up your cake at your venue. We will liaise directly with wedding coordinators at venues to arrange this so it’s one less thing for you to think about. The cost of delivery and set up will be included in your cake quote.

Delivery will be carried out in a safe and appropriate manner. Once delivered to the customer and change of hands has been completed with the product in appropriate condition, it is then up to the customer to store and care for the cake as per our instructions. If anything is to happen to the cake after this exchange, we are not liable for any damages.

Some cakes may be suitable for collection which can be discussed at the point of ordering.

Responsibility for your cake passes to you once it has been collected from our premises or delivery has been accepted. We accept no liability for cakes that are damaged after they have been delivered to the agreed location. It is the responsibility of the Customer to check the state of the product before leaving the premises. Once the item has left the premises, the Customer is responsible to ensure that products get to their destination safely and are stored as per our instructions to achieve best results for taste and quality.

Upon collection, cakes should be transported on a flat surface (preferably in an empty boot or passenger footwell – depending on size of cake/car!). It is not recommended that cakes are put on a seat or a passenger knee as the angle can cause damage to the cake.

On hot days it is recommended to travel with the air conditioning on, or the windows open to keep the environment cool so that the cake does not get too warm.

After delivery or collection, please ensure that your cake is kept out of sunlight and at room temperature. Care should be taken to put cakes in marquees as close to guest arrival time as possible as marquees become very warm on sunny days.

Stacked cakes will be supported by dowels, which should be removed prior to serving. 

CAKE SMASH

All cakes may contain hidden dowels and supports and therefore cakes should never be used for ‘smashing’ and faces should NEVER be pushed into cakes.

IMAGES

We reserve the right to use any image of a Product made by us for publication at a later date.

CAKE KNIVES AND CAKE STANDS

We do not hire/provide cake knives. Cake stands are available for hire on prearranged terms.

RETURN OF HIRED EQUIPMENT

Deposits are taken for all equipment. All equipment must be returned on an agreed date or extra charges may be levied to cover hire costs. Any damages to equipment will incur a reduction of deposit returned in order to cover costs of repair or replacement.

POSTPONEMENT POLICY

If, for any reason the event is required to be postponed, please contact me immediately.

The new date proposed will be subject to availability.

CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDS

If cancellation of the order is required, and you have paid your full balance, the refund policy is as follows:

If the cancellation is up to one (1) month in advance of your event date, you will receive a refund, less your initial deposit and the cost of any supplies already purchased for your cake.

If the cancellation is less than seven (7) days prior to your event, there will be no refunds given.

Refunds will be paid within 30 days of cancellation.

OUR LIABILITY

Our liability to you is limited to the price of the cake and we cannot be held responsible for any indirect losses which may happen as a consequence of any breach by us of these terms however arising. However, this does not include or limit in any way our liability for any matter for which it would be illegal for us to exclude, or attempt to exclude.

EVENTS OUTSIDE OUR CONTROL

We cannot be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations under these terms that is caused by any act, event, non-happening, omission or accident beyond our reasonable control.

REFUNDS

In the unlikely event of not being satisfied with the completed products refunds are subject to agreement. A full refund can only be given when at least 75% of the cake/item is returned within 48 hours at a prearranged time suitable to ourselves. We are not liable to cover transport costs or any other associated costs outside of the value of the item. Without returning at least 75% of the cake/item only a 50% refund will be possible. We ask that you refrain from posting any defamatory comments without first getting in touch so that situations can be explained and while satisfactory outcomes are being discussed.
